SINECCH™ for Rhinoplasty Recovery
Reduce Bruising and Swelling and Speed Recovery after Rhinoplasty
The dosage regimen of SINECCH™ was custom-designed to match the level of bruising and swelling that many patients experience following rhinoplasty surgery.
Rhinoplasty Recovery
Rhinoplasty is where SinEcch got its start. When Alpine Pharmaceuticals founder Michael Quinn was discussing the impact of high potency Arnica with a colleague who was a homeopathic practitioner, the doctor recounted a story of a patient who had taken high potency Arnica and had little to no bruising following rhinoplasty – an outcome which stunned the patient’s plastic surgeon. Michael took this information and, with more than 12 years of experience as a homeopathic pharmacist, created a dosing regimen that would provide these dramatic and consistent results for post-surgical patients.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), nose surgery (rhinoplasty) recovery will entail some degree of both bruising and swelling. The ASAPS notes that:
- Bruising is most apparent during the first three days after surgery, around the eyes and cheeks.
- Most of the discoloration disappears within a week.
- Noticeable swelling can last for several weeks.
- Minor residual swelling, usually affecting the tip of the nose, might continue for many months, but it generally won’t be noticeable to other people.
The degree of bruising and swelling that are seen during rhinoplasty recovery can be addressed by using SINECCH™. As is also the case for other types of cosmetic and general surgeries, SINECCH™ can help to reduce or even eliminate the bruising and swelling in the post-operative rhinoplasty recovery phase. A recent patient in Hawaii asked her surgeon on the sixth day after her rhinoplasty surgery, “When does the bruising start?” This level of response will not happen for every patient, but almost every patient will experience a significant reduction in both bruising and swelling.
SINECCH compares favorably to steroids to reduce post-op swelling in a rhinoplasty study!
A 2006 study conducted by Dr. Ali Totonchi and Dr. Bahman Guyuron, Department of Plastic Surgery, Case Western Reserve University, published in 2007 by the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery compared the effects of Arnica (the SinEcch dosing regimen) to corticosteroids (steroids) following rhinoplasty. The study found that “patients who received arnica had significantly less edema compared with controls during the early postoperative period, suggesting a beneficial effect of arnica on this postrhinoplasty consequence.” Both SINECCH™ and the steroids were found to be effective at reducing, however the steroids delayed the resolution of bruising and this may, the authors write, “outweigh the benefit of reducing edema during the postoperative period.” So, while steroids delayed resolution of bruising, the SINECCH™ patients received a benefit with the reduction of swelling and no delay of bruising resolution.
Many plastic surgeons in the United States routinely give their patients SINECCH™ to help reduce bruising and swelling during the rhinoplasty recovery period — for good reason.
